TATIANA VINTU
Associate Professor, Design
Tatiana Vintu is a scenographer, creator, and experimenter who seeks to capture the full spectrum of non-tangible environments that influence an audience’s experience. Her work focuses on integrating the latest trends and innovations in performance design. As an Associate Professor in the School of Theatre & Dance within the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts at the University of Houston, she teaches and works in the area of scenography and serves as Head of the M.F.A. track in Scenic Design.
In addition to her academic role, Tatiana has designed professionally for numerous theatre and film productions across Europe, the United States, and Asia. Her work has been exhibited at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space (PQ) and featured at the USITT Conference. She holds an M.F.A. in Theatre/Production Set Design from Tulane University (New Orleans, Louisiana), studied scenography at the National University of Theatrical and Cinematic Arts (Bucharest, Romania), and earned her B.F.A. in Scenography from the Academy of Music, Theatre and Visual Arts (Chisinau, Moldova).
Tatiana currently serves as Head Curator for USITT–Prague Quadrennial 2023. She previously held curatorial roles for USITT–Prague Quadrennial 2019 and Innovative Costume of the 21st Century: The Next Generation in 2019.
