SyncUP Fridays at McGovern College of the Arts

Engage, Connect and Thrive Together!

"SyncUP Fridays!" is an exciting initiative launched by the Strategic Initiatives Working Groups (SIWG) at Kathrine McGovern College of the Arts (KGMCA). This dynamic committee, comprised of students, faculty, and staff, is dedicated to driving our college’s strategic goals forward. Through innovative programs and collaborative efforts, SIWG is committed to enhancing our college’s community and adapting to our ever-evolving needs.

"SYNC-UP FRIDAYS!" is designed to bring our college community together, focusing on three essential areas:

Mental Health Support: Access resources and activities aimed at promoting well-being and mental health.

Career Development: Providing guidance and resources to help students navigate their career paths.

Community Engagement: Creating opportunities to connect with the Dean and college leadership in a safe and casual environment to discuss concerns, issues, and ideas as they arise throughout the school year.

The Mitchell Center is proud to present the first iteration​ of The Attention Labs in Houston, an experiential workshop by the Strother School of Radical Attention. The Strother School of Radical Attention is a non-profit experimental institution of education & collaboration dedicated to cultivating radical attention as a foundation of human well-being (and well-being beyond the human, too). The Attention Labs are an experiential, participatory workshop curriculum dedicated to the joint exploration of radical human attention. Through group attention practices & guided discussions, they create & test tools to build sanctuaries of attention — as well as networks of solidarity to sustain them.
