MARIAL BIARD

Professor

Marial Biard, MM, MT-BC, NMT-F, works at Texas Children’s Hospital, serving as Internship Director, Practicum Site Director, Staff Choir Director, and Research Clinician. Marial is a certified Neurologic Music Therapist and one of the first Neurologic Music Therapy Fellows in Pediatrics in the world. She chairs the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy’s Pediatrics Focus Forum.

Marial also serves on faculty at the University of Houston, lecturing for the Katherine P. McGovern College of the Arts. An active member of the American Music Therapy Association, Marial gives back to her field by serving as the SWAMTA Region’s Conference Chair and as the National Co-Chair of the Pediatric Work Group.

Most recently, Marial is a multi-published author whose research has been recognized and awarded internationally. She is also a recipient of the AMTA Harmony Award for her work regarding National Disaster Relief and Psychosocial First Aid intervention.

In her spare time, she loves to travel and practice yoga. Namaste!
