WILHELMINA'S GROVE PROJECT AND LOOP ROAD CONSTRUCTION

THE FUTURE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON'S ARTS DISTRICT

Exciting changes are underway in the UH Arts District! As part of our commitment to enhancing accessibility and creating inviting spaces, the Wilhelmina’s Grove and Loop Road construction projects are in full swing. While these improvements promise a brighter, greener future for the district, they may temporarily impact parking and navigation around our venues. We’re here to help you plan your visit with up-to-date information and resources.

Construction Projects Overview

Wilhelmina’s Grove Project

This project will transform the space at the center of our Arts District into a true green space featuring a raised lawn, outdoor seating areas, and enhanced landscaping. The updated design will create a welcoming and functional environment for relaxation, gathering, and outdoor events.

Timeline: December 9, 2024 – August 15, 2025.

Loop Road Construction

This project will improve accessibility, manage stormwater runoff, and enhance campus walkability with more trees and green spaces.

Timeline: December 16, 2024 – December 31, 2025.

The project is divided into two phases:

Phase 1: Area in front of the Moores School of Music.

Phase 2: Area in front of Fine Arts and Architecture.
