JOSH KAISEN
AI Consultant & Entrepreneur
Michael Guidry, a New Orleans native, has been working in the arts for 30 years. He received his BA from the University of New Orleans in 1992 and his MFA from University of Houston in 1996. After graduating from UH, he returned to New Orleans and worked Dr. Joshua Kaisen is an AI architect, consultant, and entrepreneur whose work focuses on the practical and transformational applications of AI in business and creative sectors. He is the Founder and Principal AI Architect of Caisen - Consulting, AI Solutions, and Education, where he provides cutting-edge AI solutions and training to clients across a diverse range of industries.
Prior to starting his company, Dr. Kaisen served as the Director of Outreach and Education for the Human-Centered AI Institute at the University of Houston. In this role, he successfully scaled the institute by introducing the first AI courses to the university and spearheading several successful interdisciplinary programs. Notably, he co-developed and teaches the "AI for Creatives" course within the Art Leadership program alongside Joel Luks. During his tenure, he also forged significant collaborations with major tech companies like Intel and Google, and launched the AI Solutions program in partnership with the university's IT department.
Dr. Kaisen’s professional expertise is heavily informed by his robust academic background, which sits at the intersection of economics, physics, and machine learning (later rebranded asAI). He has also held faculty positions as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics at St. Mary's College of Maryland and an Adjunct Professor at the University of South Florida. Dr. Kaisen has published several influential papers across top journals in business, economics, physics and mathematics. He also authored a textbook on behavioral economics.
A recognized thought leader in the space, Dr. Kaisen has delivered keynote speeches at prominent conferences, spoken at over two dozen industry events, and been featured on several podcasts, including NPR's "Hello Houston," to discuss advancements in human- computer interaction. His strategic insights have been sought by global enterprises; he has advised both Lenovo and Microsoft on AI research related initiatives.
Dr. Kaisen holds a PhD in Economics from the University of South Florida, a Master's in Physics from the University at Buffalo (SUNY), and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics from Ohio University. Outside of his professional work, Josh is a loyal husband, father to a loving dog and three loving-when-convenient cats, amateur podcaster, and a devoted karaoke enthusiast.
