JONATHAN GUEZ
Assistant Professor of Music Theory
Jonathan Guez earned a Ph.D. Yale University, where his dissertation on Schubert and musical form was co-advised by Patrick McCreless and James Hepokoski. Published work in his primary research areas—Schubert and musical form—appears in Music Theory Spectrum, Music Theory Online, the Journal of Music Theory, Music Analysis, the Journal of Music Theory Pedagogy, and elsewhere. His article “Toward a Theory of Recapitulatory Tonal Alterations,” published in the Journal of Music Theory, was a finalist for the Society of Music Theory’s Emerging Scholar Award. Secondary research interests include music theory pedagogy, Theodor Adorno, and opera. He has served on the editorial board and as Associate Editor at Music Theory Online. He was formerly Associate Professor with Tenure at the College of Wooster.
