Jalene Mack, Esq., is an entertainment attorney, producer, writer, actress, playwright, author, and founder of Mack Performing Arts Collective (MPAC), an arts and entertainment 501 C 3 nonprofit based in Houston, Texas founded in 2011. With more than 32 years of experience in Arts & Entertainment law and business, Jalene serves as a production attorney on Film & Television projects assisting content creators from development and finance through production, sale and distribution.
Jalene has served as producer, executive producer, or production attorney on more than 50 film and television projects. Her credits include, The Feelin’ Inside, Paper Made, The Christmas App,
Swoon, Staycation, One Crazy Christmas, The Great Divide, My B.F.F., Hip Hop Family Christmas and Hip Hop Family Christmas Wedding, Safe Room, Fifth Ward, and Beyond the Likes and North of the 10, which filmed internationally in Los Angeles, Chicago, and the UAE.
As a creative professional, Jalene is also an accomplished actress and screenwriter with more than 60 acting credits, including The Burial, Better Call Saul, Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Friend Zone, Hurricane Season, Fifth Ward, Bayou City Murders and Spawns which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. She received the Hollywood & Africa Prestigious Award (HAPA) for Best Supporting Actor for BET’s Christmas Belles. Her writing credits include The Great Divide, and her projects What Took Y’all So Long? and A Heist for the Holidays are currently in development.
Through MPAC, Jalene has dedicated herself to mentoring emerging and established artists by creating access, education, and career opportunities within the entertainment industry. Her work in the arts, law, and community has earned her numerous honors, including the President Joe Biden Lifetime Achievement Award, President Barack Obama Lifetime Achievement Award, Attorney of the Year Black Excellence Award, and recognition as one of the 40 Influential Women of 2020 by Los Angeles Wire Business Edition.
In addition to her legal and entertainment work and her authorship of many industry books and guides, Jalene is a frequent speaker, educator, and advocate for creators navigating the business of stage, screen, and in between. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and continues to expand her impact nationally and internationally through film, television, theater, music and the business and education thereof.
