CAN'T STOP HOUSTON:
ARTS IN MOTION
Marking 10 years of the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts
Supporting students, spaces, and the arts that move people and communities
A DECADE OF MOMENTUM
THE NEXT CHAPTER BEGINS NOW.
For ten years, the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts has advanced artistic excellence through performance, research, and public engagement. Arts in Motion builds on that momentum by investing in what sustains it — access, infrastructure, and community connection.
Arts in Motion reflects the people, programs, and partnerships that carry creativity forward—across disciplines, audiences, and communities.
BUILDING WHAT MOVES THE ARTS FORWARD, TOGETHER
Student Access + Scholarships
1500 students enrolled annually
Over 1/3 students receiving financial support across undergraduate and graduate programs
Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. Scholarships remove financial barriers, strengthen recruitment, and allow students to focus fully on learning, creating, and performing at the highest level.
Spaces
in Motion
650+ events, rehearsals, productions, and exhibitions created each year
Over 150 rehearsal rooms, studios, galleries, and performance venues in daily use
700+ in-person classes offered annually
Creative excellence depends on environments that match our ambition. As programs grow and demand increases, continued investment ensures safe, modern, and inspiring spaces where the work happens.
Art in the World
370 public performances, exhibitions, and community programs presented annually
120+ community partnerships and collaborative initiatives
Art moves through people and communities. Through Friends organizations and signature initiatives such as the Texas Music Festival and Houston Shakespeare Festival, the College extends artistic engagement beyond campus and into broader cultural life.
“Scholarships made it possible for me to pursue my art without hesitation.”
